MultipleHost utilizes top facilities around the country.  Do we own our own facilities?  Nope.  Unlike many colocation providers, we do not pretend to own and operate our own facilities.  Building a true "mission-critical" colocation facility can cost hundreds of millions of dollars.  Operating such a facility can cost several hundred thousand dollars per month.  We let the experts worry about building, operating, and securing the facilities that we use.  We buy in bulk, passing the savings on to you.  It'd be nearly impossible for you to get such low rates directly from the data center. 

MultipleHost primarily utilizes Carrier Neutral facilities, such as Equinix IBX.  This gives us more leverage and allows us to choose the carriers of our choice.  If a carrier is having problems; whether it be financial or network-related, we can switch carriers or simply add other carriers for redundancy.

Biometric Hand Geometry Readers:

A combination of hundreds of biometric hand geometry readers per IBX® center, an encrypted database and visual confirmation ensure that only authorized customers have appropriate access to our centers. Using Recognition Systems, Inc’s Handkey® ll Access Control Reader, Equinix has incorporated proven, biometric technology within the framework of an IBX center’s security system. Because authorized personnel must pass through biometric hand scanners at every access point, Equinix is able to keep track of where and when someone has entered and exited a room or cage. Equinix has taken steps to create a comprehensive system where our security personnel has complete knowledge of all individuals in an IBX center, their whereabouts, and activities.
